I’m so glad you’ve chosen to join this 5-week journey of movement and meditation, designed to support you through the challenges and celebrations of December. This program is your space to pause, reconnect, and build skills to navigate stress with grace and resilience. Together, we’ll explore movement practices that are a blend of barre, dance, strength, and Qi gong in a somatic style, all infused with mindfulness and breathwork to help you feel grounded and empowered. Each session is a step towards deeper self-awareness, emotional balance, and inner peace.

Preparing for Success: Creating Your Sanctuary Space
Choose Your Space:
Find a quiet, comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed. This doesn’t need to be a large area—just enough space to move freely without bumping into furniture.
If possible, set up near a window for natural light or in a space that feels calming to you.
Set the Tone:
Create an environment that helps you feel grounded and focused:
Light a candle or use soft lighting.
Bring in comforting elements like a plant, a cozy blanket, or anything that makes your space feel special.
Turn off or silence notifications on your phone and other devices to minimise distractions.
Gather Equipment:
Essential Items:
A yoga or Pilates mat, or a soft surface for floor work.
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
Optional Props:
Light hand weights (or filled water bottles) to add some resistance (optional)
A blanket or cushion for seated meditations, breathwork or stretching.
A journal and pen for reflective exercises.
Set Aside Time:
Treat this as your non-negotiable time for self-care. Block out the full session on your calendar, and let others know this is your sacred hour to focus on you.
Arrive a few minutes early to settle into the space, stretch, and mentally prepare.
Mindset & Intention:
Take a moment before each session to set an intention. Ask yourself: What do I want to feel, learn, or release today?
Approach the session with curiosity and self-compassion—this is your time to explore and grow at your own pace.
Post-Session Ritual:
Consider having a small ritual to close your sanctuary time, like sipping a cup of tea, journaling reflections, or simply sitting in stillness to savour the calm you’ve created.
Why This Matters:
By consciously setting up our environment and mindset, we will not only enhance our experience during the session but also create a lasting association between this time and our personal well-being. It transforms the practice into a true sanctuary that we can look forward to each week.

Strength-building movements and balance exercises combined with rhythmic breathing for focus and empowerment. Creating our inner sanctuary with a visualisation meditation and Breath-focused practice for inner stability. Takeawy sanctuary creation.

Dance-inspired sequences to build a sense of play and adaptability, Incorporating some balance work to cultivate a sense of centredness, with a meditation to focus on observing thoughts and emotions without judgment. Use of affirmations and a reflective take away exercise

Uplifting movements that create a sense of celebration, restorative poses to nurture the body and mind. Gratitude meditation, focusing on the people, experiences, and tools that bring light into our lives. Visualisation to step forward with clarity & peace and a takeaway letter writing
